I wanted to provide you with some more information on our Governing Body for Moon Hall Schools Educational Trust and in particular, information on the appointment of 3 more recently appointed Governors to the board. I hope from learning a little more about what our Governors do at Moon Hall and a little about them personally this will continue to build trust in the Governing body going forward.
Our Governing body has grown in strength enormously over the past 12 months with the appointment of several highly skilled and committed Governors. This transformation of our Governing body now ensures that we have a strong balance between those on the board who have been involved with Moon Hall Schools Educational Trust for some time, bringing a wealth of knowledge and understanding and those who are new to the board, who bring new ideas, experiences and a fresh perspective on things.
I am a Governor myself at a school in West Sussex and not to speak on the behalf of our governors but it can be quite a responsibility on occasions particularly when you have work commitments and other roles to balance. As you will know, the role of a Governor is to provide Support and Challenge to the school, to ensure that the best interests of the pupils are being met. In my capacity as a Governor, this provides me with the opportunity to gain experience of another Governing Body whilst also sharing knowledge and expertise with the other school. The role of a Governor is an extremely beneficial one for me personally and this in turn benefits Moon Hall. Learning and sharing from like- minded peers is so valuable.
I am extremely thankful to our Governing body for the time that they dedicate to the school. As parents, you may not be aware of all of the tasks that they do. Often our Governor meetings are sometimes held out of normal school hours due to Governors work commitments. However, we will be hosting some Governor events within school over the coming months and indeed, as parents you also have the opportunity to contact them via email at any point should you wish.
In one form or another, I am in daily contact with various Governors for a variety of reasons. All of our Governors have different responsibilities across the school, including Safeguarding, Marketing, Health and Safety, Academic, Finance and Premises. The effective partnership between the Head teacher and a strong and effective Governing body is essential and provides stability and rigour to ensure the effective running of the school.
