Welcome back! I hope you all had the most wonderful and relaxing Christmas break. My Christmas break involved a trip to Scotland to visit family and many lazy mornings and to be honest too much chocolate and food! It has been great to get back to school and back into the swing of things, I do like a bit of routine.
I must mention the school catering from Holroyd Howe and how they have simply been superb over these winter months. They now provide homemade soup every lunchtime, in addition to their main menu and salads, which has been a real hit with the pupils. This was as a result of our student food council meetings and I am delighted to have been able to introduce this for our pupils. I’m always a fan of hidden vegetables (for my own kids) and there’s no better way to disguise this than in a hearty bowl of warming soup- yum!
We have welcomed 11 new pupils to the school since October. Today I hosted a “new pupils treat” at break time where we had fruit juice and freshly backed cakes. It was lovely to hear all of their positive comments on how they have settled in so far and how much they are loving life at Moon Hall. They are a thoroughly lovely addition to our school and it was great to get to know them better.
Our currently role is at 113 which is fantastic. We also have several new joiners due over the next few weeks and as our capacity on site is 120 we are almost full!
We welcomed back our pupils from the recent trip to New York and also the ski trip in Austria. Thank you to all of the staff who gave up some of their holiday time to take the pupils on these amazing adventures. The pupils are still buzzing from their experiences and I’m sure will have made many special memories. Photos and write up to follow in next week’s bulletin.
Please do remember that as a school we see ourselves as an extended family. If you ever have a concern or feel you would like to get in touch with any member of staff then please do so. Also, if you are picking up at the end of the day do feel welcome to pop into reception and say hello. It has
to be said that understandably, pupils have been exceptionally tired this week at school. Please do encourage them where you can to get into a good bedtime routine in order to make the best out of their lesson time with us. (As a mum of a teenager myself, believe me, I know this it is easier said
than done)!
