Options Fair (February 2023)
Year 9 pupils and parents attended our Options Fair on Wednesday evening to ask any last minute questions to our Heads of Department. Of particular interest was our newest option subject, Music BTEC, following the successful introduction of Music in Years 3–9 over the last two years.
Y6 UoS 'Campus Invasion' (February 2023)
Our year 6's were invited to "Campus Invasion 2023" at the University of Surrey to take part in a story writing competition. They were taken for a tour of the campus to help them think about what they may write in connection with the story title "What's invaded the University of Surrey?"
Y9 UoS 'Exploring Higher Education' & Graduation 2023 (February 2023)
Our Year 9's worked with the University of Surrey as part of a 3 day Widening Participation (WP) to inform more students from diverse backgrounds about future pathways, and also the possibilities of higher education.
On Wednesday the University of Surrey visited Moon Hall to recap and conclude the two days that the Year 9's spent on campus last week. Pupils completed their design of a university and then attended their own graduation.
Ootiboo (January 2023)
Nine of our Year 9 students went to Canterbury Christ Church University to meet Angus Cameron, founder of Ootiboo. Ootiboo is a company based in Berlin based and was set up by Angus to inspire creativity in children. The pupils learnt about making sounds to add to their movie, performing on a green screen and how to edit and add to their movie.
Kidzania (January 2023)
The Juniors had a ball at Kidzania, an interactive indoor city made for kids aged 4-14. From an airline pilot to a surgeon, firefighter to a radio DJ, kids can work, play, earn and learn whilst haing fun in a range of role play activities.
