Educational Visits

Pupils are regularly given the opportunity to participate in off-site educational visits. These visits are designed to engage children in activities that broaden their understanding of the curriculum or will provide them with an experience they may not usually have access to.

Visits take advantage of local facilities such as museums, art galleries, and nature reserves as well as activity centres or attractions further afield such as theatre trips to London. Alternatively, focus activities may be planned to utilise the stunning and varied grounds within which the school is sited.

All visits or activities are organised by teachers who are obliged to conduct a risk assessment to ensure that all potential hazards are taken account of and adjustments made to ensure that the children will be safe and to maximise the benefits of any trip or activity.

When they reach Year 6, the children will be invited to participate in our annual residential held in an accredited activity centre. This forms an important part of transition planning for children’s move to the Senior School and the children always return with a great sense of pride in their adventurous achievements!

Trips abroad are arranged where appropriate to enhance the senior curriculum and have included visits to Amsterdam, Berlin and the WWII battlefields. We also regularly organise an annual skiing holiday for pupils and their families.
